Alphanumeric keypads - they're the future

Who'd of thought that good old RSI-inducing SMS would become more popular than speech-to-text software, hand-writing-to-text recognition, video calling or any other new-fangled invention?

Yahoo is hopping on the bandwagon with free emails to texts. Seems to be only in the US at the moment, but hopefully it will come our way soon.

And without much fanfare, Google already started offering free online calendar alerts by text, which I think is a first in the UK.

More text messages are sent everyday than there are grains of sand on the Earth (Source). If online companies are starting to embrace mainstream texting, instead of fancy things that no-one uses, then all the better.

Technology Review: How Ads Affect Our Memory

I'd be interested in reading more on this.

A non valuable prize awaits anyone who can find the actual research for me!
